Sunday Hikes

Mom has been taking me hiking at Wildcat Canyon on Sundays lately. We took other Mom yesterday to show her what she has been missing (watching me in nature). When we master video technology we will post me hunting prairie dogs which is similar to the carnival game where the heads pop up and you hit them with a hammer only in my version I run at warp speed through the field and my nose tries to catch the heads before they retreat back in their holes. After the little buggers cheat death I retreat to my zen tree for water and meditation. Love,Neko

Grateful

I had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend on the California Central Coast. I deep fried two turkeys with Mom (ate a few bites too). I met a handicapped dog named Bear with a sweet ride. I went to the beach with my two cousins Dixie the German Shepherd and Bailey the small human child. The best part of the trip was when my cousin Jordan (also a small human child) fed me the scrambled eggs she couldn't finish at breakfast. It is hard to say whether Jordan or I enjoyed this activity more but I'm pretty sure it was me. I hope you all had a good one. Love,Neko

Belated Birthday

Moms took me out to my favorite walk on Sunday to make up for my birthday kind of sucking a couple of weeks ago. It was my first year not having a party because Moms want me a little more recovered from my surgery before partying too hard and it was on a Wednesday which is never ideal for a party. So just us family for a Sunday walk was fine by me. Mom also gave me a spoonful of peanut butter which is way better than a cake unless of course a cake was made entirely of meat. Love,Neko

My Moms were married on October 1, 2008 Legally by the state. Help uphold the courts decision to allow equal rights to all. No one is asking the churches to compromise their values or marry anyone they don't want to. All we want is equal protection under the law just like any other citizens. My Cousin Jordan

A week ago we were on a road trip and I saw my cousins. This is the little one, Jordan. Even at her young age the opposable thumbs are working overtime. She was able to assist me in many things including ball retrieval and blogging. Love,Neko

Take Your Airedale to Work Day

Mom had a job in Pacifica yesterday and she took other Mom and I along for a couple of hours. Other Mom and I can't say we worked very hard. Mostly sunning ourselves. I love when I get to come along. Love,Neko

Road Trip

We took a weekend road trip so my Mom could help my Grandpa and my Uncles build a deck.

Stunt Double Mom

One of my Moms has been out of town for work so I am stunt doubling for her by keeping other Mom warm and cozy in the bed. I think we need a bigger bed when Mom gets home so this can be a permanent arrangement but Mom says things will more than likely go back to people in one bed, pup in another bed. On another note my healing is progressing nicely. We miss you Mom. Love, Neko

Short Walks and Bonfires

The vet says I am allowed short walks for now, prohibitively short like 5 minutes. I did pack a lot into my 5 minutes the other day. At the park/beach by my house I saw geese and jelly fish (neither of which I was permitted to chase or chew). I'm not complaining I have my sniff and my muscles are growing back and I expect to have a turkey by Thanksgiving if all goes well. Moms have taken advantage of the time I've been in the home infirmary to lay a brick patio for bonfires. I say its an excuse for them to drink wine outdoors in the chilly Autumn evenings. Whatever, change of scenery is good. love,Neko

Please Play Ball With Me Mom

I want to play ball so bad my eyes are green. Mom says I can't run for a couple of weeks and she refuses to throw my ball. I can't tell you how bored I am. At least they let me chew on the ball and they did put some temporary sod on the patio because they won't let me climb the stairs to my yard. Love,Neko

Home Sweet Couch

I am home as of today. Grandpa is here helping mom's with me and he tends to be quite generous with the treats, bring it on. My surgery went well and I am going to have the toughest scar. Too bad my hair is going to grow in and cover it up. Tivo and the animal planet are keeping the boredom at bay for now. I feel blessed to have the family and friends in my life that rallied for me, love to you all. Neko
